‘A piacere’ means ‘at your discretion’, a note on playing style that occasionally gives musicians in classical music free rein for interpretation.
In this project, whose protagonists come from the world of jazz, this refers to the treatment of the compositions in terms of sound, improvisation and form.
The selection of musical pieces, which come from different genres and periods, is also ‘at will’.
The only deciding factor is the suitability of the material for precisely THIS constellation. In addition to some originals of the bandmembers , the programme includes music by Henry Purcell, Egberto Gismonti and Hildegard von Bingen in special arrangements.
