Wit' The Movement „frontline terrorsound" (ATS Records) "Time Has Come For A Change". This title track from the debut-album of "Wit The Movement" promises a lot. Once listening to all recordings of the album, one thing is for sure: "frontline terrorsound" can keep its promise. Looking at Austrias Underground scene, one is not left with more than a handfull of Indie-Rock-Bands, with little innovation and no new sounds. Wit' The Movement (WTM) follow their path, without any diversions and thereby still managing not to deny or hide their musical influences and origins. Andy, lOw rEnZo, Max, DJ Cueing and "The Messager" A.P. energetically, powerfully and with their expressive songs represent the sound of "teenage anger", whereby their basics remind of times where the politically engaged bands where at the top of the beginning of the Cross-Over Hype. Moshing guitar riffs, lowgrinding baselines and slapped groove- interludes , powerded by neck breaking drum beats and fastidious rhythm changes, combined with a screaming "Prophet" of justice who speaks of racial discrimination and warns of the doubtful political systems. The combo is supported by the Vinyl-techniques of DJ Cueing, who next to geniusly crafted scratches also adds masterfully quotes in the tracks of "Wit' The Movement". (such as the sampled Russian Roulett scene by the song: "A Track" or during the beginning of " Insight". Another positive point is that DJ Cueing has integrated his style so much into that of Wit' The Movement, that one does not think of the DJ as acoustic make-up. The bands willingness to experiment shines through by songs such as: "Interlude": Trashing guitar and drum sounds challenge phat beats and groovy baselines until the flow is afresh disrupted by reversed soundbits, during which A.P. literally screams, highvoiced with no end. Even "Zero Tollerance" breaks free of the typical "Usual Suspects" song style, which a lot of wanna-be hardcore-cross-over-nu-metal-whatever-bands have drained to the fullest! With the continuously original and fresh sounds from Wit' The Movement, it is hard to elevate one song over all other 12 tracks from "Frontline Terrorsound". Its because of the compactness and the ongoing 'red thread' that winds its way throughout the whole debut album that gives such a high listening quality. It's ever- changing, yet still sounds like out of one melting pot. Maybe one should mention the hidden track after song 12. Itīs a flowing hip-hop number that seems to be a groove-monster with hit potential. To get to the point, the five Austrian boys have managed to produce a very fine debut album. Who ever has seen Wit' The Movment live at the "FLEX" nightclub, knows what to expect at the upcoming gigs; pure energy. For all you out there who love the hard way, one rule stands: Watch out for WTM, they gonna rock the house.
